Robin Kerr

Sales and Marketing Consultant - LREA

Robin came to the Gold Coast from Brisbane in early 1981 after graduating from Theological College and joined PRD Realty in their Head Office in Surfers Paradise. He started selling residential homes and units and then moved into commercial property sales before transferring into Special Projects Division. This was a new division which assembled broad acreage sites for future golf courses with residential component as well as prestiege high rise projects, etc. These listings was passed on to our International Division who then communicated direct with our Japanese Clients overseas.

The highlight for Robin over his 13 years with PRD Realty was when he was given the brief to market the freehold title of 33 Westpac Bank Branches, on a lease back basis for 5 or 10 year leases. These branches were spread across Queensland and varied greatly and needed to be catalogued and prepared for auction by late November 1989, when all properties would be sold at the Mayfair Crest Hotel in Brisbane.

After some 4-5 weeks of flying all over the State from Brisbane west to Cunnamulla and North to Tambo, Blackall and on to Boulia, near the NT border. It was then on to Georgetown in the gulf and then to Cairns and down the East Coast Branches and back to Brisbane.

The Auction was very well attended with over 650 people gathering in the Grand Ballroom of The Hotel and selling all 33 Banks under the hammer, realising over $14,000,000 in under 3 hours.

In 1994 he commenced my own business at the Northern end of the Gold Coast at Hope Island, Incorporating Monterey Keys and Oyster Cove. Then in early 1999, he purchased Lambert Smollen Estate Agents business in Bundall and after two and a half years he sold and returned to Hope Island and later selling the business in 2008.

As Robin was living at Broadbeach Waters, he joined Ray White Broadbeach in July 2010 and concentrated on prestige waterfront properties in both residential homes and units.

He has lived in the Broadbeach area for over 30 years and loves the beach and total lifestyle that the area generates. Last year he sold the sub-penthouse in The Oracle high rise complex for $5,000,000, this being the highest priced apartment sold in the development to date.

It is a magnificent property which occupies the whole floor area of over 700 square meters with outstanding 360 degree views of the ocean, coastline and hinterland. These types of properties are unique and will rarely be repeated and will only continue to increase in value.
